Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Carbine Barrel Question
I've never seen one before, but am told it is a rare item, and valuable. Is it? How rare? How valuable?

Blue book says made 1936-46 and 30/06 is the most common caliber. Should bring a premium over a regular 22" barrel but probably a very limited market for it. Not much good to a collector unless he has a carbine with a ruined barrel that needs replacing. Perhaps some nefarious soul would want it to fake a factory carbine to sell. It is interesting and I hope you do well with it. Bob

Buying used barrels on GB is a gamble in itself unless the seller has bore scope pics. Dont ask me how I know.
