Greg, brother, I'm sorry for your and her pain. I understand, really I do. I watched my dad cry tears of pain and it felt like there was nothing I could do. I felt alone, I didn't have the answers, and I was failing him.

PLEASE call hospice and get started with them. It's not "giving up", it's bringing people alongside that have experience, strength and advice. They won't take over, and you're not giving up by calling them. It's not making you weaker, it's making you stronger. If you can focus less on the mechanics of her illness, you can focus more on her.

This is a horrible thing you're walking through, and those good people have walked this path already. Let them walk with you and make it easier. If God steps in and a miracle happens, you won't find a happier bunch and they'll celebrate every victory with you.

Please let us know how this is progressing. We've got your back. Father in Heaven, you are wise beyond our understanding, and you are good. Hold Greg and his beloved in your mighty, mighty hands. Amen.

Praying that June gets that Miracle and she is relieved from suffering. When I used to work at a Hospital a big issue was pain control, not allowing the patient to suffer, after the big hubaloo over the pain meds being mismanaged they got stingy with them. I could be wrong but if I recall correctly my Dad's Dr. said "I ain't no Kirvorkian but I won't let him be in pain either".

As you mention we wouldn't let a Horse or Dog suffer but what we put humans through sometimes is barbarian.

    God Bless

    Nanuq,

We have checked with hospice. They will discontinue her chemo meds if she goes into hospice and she is not ready to just give up yet. So her cancer doctor prescribed pallitive care instead which so far has done nothing to help with pain.

She has an appointment with another pain clinic next week and hopefully this one is better than the last one that did absolutely nothing except try to lower her amount of pain meds.

You and June have constantly been in my prayers and will continue to be there. I have walked a similar path. May the Lord watch over you and be with you as you continue the fight. Comfort and healing are asked for from the the Great Physician.

Prayers from our home for June and her family. Good on ya for taking the pain med battle to the administrator. When someone is too sick and worn out to advocate for themselves, the "healthcare" machine will run right over top of them.

I can't even imagine what your wife, as well as yourself have been through. My prayers continue to be with both of you.
