I never had an issue with the guy. He let his game speak for itself.

I hope he makes a full recovery.

He was a hell of a golfer but a despicable man IMO. The news is saying he may never walk right again.

I just got finished looking at where he wrecked and I really don't see how unless he was really speeding or the car did something weird. The car had all these fancy accident avoidance, sleepy driver alerts and other stuff. Could the car have got crazy and crashed itself?

We are headed down a slippery slope.....there was a thread the other day about a golf ball launcher and now this...maybe the new owners will add a Golf Forum to the talk boards to handle all this traffic...

I once had a doctor who did himself in using his vehicle to do it. Wonder if Tiger was having depression issues?

I hate to see this happen to anyone, regardless of my feelings about the person.

I am not ashamed to admit that I have a strong streak of schadenfreude. There are number of people who I would dance a jig for if they suddenly keeled over dead. I view that as a balance for the people who I would truly mourn over.

Apparently Tiger doesn't obey the 90 degree rule.

thats my thought also. seemingly insurmountable problems with lower back has wrecked his career, personal problems wrecking his life. methinks the demons in his head got the best of him and pushed the envelope of safe driving to the point of near suicide.

Like it or not, he was the best ever in the world in golf, and yes, I have my issues also so I am not judging him on life choices. "Lucky" to be alive in that wreck.

Update: Cops say there will be no charges filed, because it was "a pure accident." (And we let celebrities get away with anything short of murder, and maybe even that, just because they're celebrities.)

What possible charges could there be? There didn't seem to be excessive speed. No damage to property besides his own vehicle. Adding an inattentive driving charge seems like insult to injury and entirely pointless regardless.

My point is that this was California and he is a celebrity. He could have been pulled from the wreck with his pants down, a joint in his lips, and a naked woman in the car, and there would have been "no evidence found" of any crime.

Several years ago my son tipped over his mini van on an icy downhill sloping road. The vehicle slid into the snowbank on the roadside and it flipped over on the drivers side. He was on his way to school that morning. There were no injuries and no other vehicles involved. A wrecker arrived at the scene about the same time a lady cop showed up. There was not a lot of serious damage to the van until the wrecker picked it up and dropped it from a very high setting. Flattening all 4 tires, ruining all 4 wheels and really messing up all the front end suspension.

The police woman watched it all go down as she wrote my son (a high school kid) a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.

I got a ticket once for driving too fast for conditions leading to my own rollover accident after I hit black ice at the top of the Lewiston, ID grade. There were a few witnesses to the accident the officer interviewed. All said I was traveling less than the speed limit. One side "probably 50" in the 60mph zone of that particular 4 lane and one estimated 45. I took it to court and never saw the inside of the courtroom before it got thrown out.
