I think it might be those Paki's and booble heads driving freight cross country for the most part.

note most were hit from behind.

I hit one once back in college, topped an exit ramp and it had blinding lights pointed in my direction. I hit the blade at 55 in an old VW bug, had to cut me out of the thing, walked away with only a small bruise on my knee.

Not tooting my horn, but I consider myself a good driver in snow and ice.

However, I limit my driving or prefer to stay home because of the number of idiots out there clueless on how to drive in wintery weather that far out number myself and other safe drivers.

    OP story is proof

Driver of the snow plow noticed a car following close behind him. Stopped, walked back, to find a blonde in a compact car. He asked if she was having trouble.

She replied that her momma had told her in bad weather, she could get behind a snowplow and drive safely. Driver just looked at her.

He said "Well, I'm all finished here at Walmart- I'm going over to Food Lion to clear their lot."

I've never crowded a plow, and never even considered passing one. I am thankful if they are in front of me, they are doing me a huge favor.

A woman I knew in upper NY state drove straight into the front of one of these. Yep, her car lost & you can guess her hair color. The embarassing thing is that the husband worked for DOT.

This was my last ride with the city some 6-1/2 years ago. The only issue with them was that when the city ordered them and the plow was attached they could only hold one end loader bucket of salt. They were designed for two, and many drivers including me would have two scoops loaded instead of one. This more or less broke many of the leaf springs on them. The last year I worked 111 of the 98 salters had their leaf springs replaced. You think they would have ordered them with heavier springs (DUH)
