I'm with you on this hillbille. I've always had fairly short hair but my last real haircut from a barber was January 2020. My daughter-in-law cut my hair in her front yard back around August 2020 and that helped. Now it's driving me crazy again. I hate it on the back of my neck and worse it makes my ears itch! 😀

I prefer to be clean cut myself. I don't know how you could stand all that.

I used to shave my head myself, with the clippers set as close to skin as I could, every 2-3 weeks, whether I need it or not.

Last time I shaved my head was October of 2019.

It's a big bushy mop, curlier than all get out.

Don't know how much longer I'll leave it, but she who shall be obeyed, and other woman types seem to love it.

Guys ask what the heck is wrong with me...

Have worn a beard for 30 years. Dermatologist was doing some work of face/ scalp. so I took all of the beard and hair off. Grandkids- who have never seen me without a beard, asked me to regrow- said it was freaking them out.

My wife has never seen me without a moustache in our 51 years. I used to grow a full beard every fall and cut it off in the spring. Now I just have a 'stache and chin whiskers trimmed to a #2 length. As far as what the wife likes or not, I wear my hair my way, and never make my opinion of her hair style known.

Grew mine in 1985, but haven't trimmed it since January last year. Gonna let her holler just a little longer. Bout to pass my chest and hit the beer storage unit.

got in the habit for many years working outside to let it all grow from 'bout August to April/May

doesnt grow near as fast now days, but by Christmas in those days the beard had already reached mid chest, and hair was wavy below the collar.

now at that time, i was still riding the bike every day it wasnt "school closed" so wife could have the car taking kids to/from school...

one time the snow started on the way in to work, out in it all day and 3-4 inches between plow runs on the road home

kida wanted the tree to decorate over the weekend, and after working in it all day and the ride home, i sure didnt want to go back out !

detoured a few miles and picked up a 6 ft tree, lashed over the tour box behind me.

besides the cars that you recognize cutting you off/tailgating all the rest of the year REALLY keeping their distance from the crazy man on a bike in this crap, it was funny watching how many cars full of kids were slowing down or pulling over pointing...

then i realized with the snow caking my beard and visible hair below the helmet, it probably looked like St. Nick making his rounds... 😎

I keep my hair short and cut it myself with electric clippers. Keep a short beard all of the time. I have been growing out my "stache" so I can wax it into a handle bar.........it's getting pretty long now but with all of this mask nonsense I can't show it. Oh well.

Didn't want to risk catching the virus and then the MI Governor shut down the barbers, church/synagogues/etc., "non-essential" businesses in a power grab. Didn't care to pay a barber anyway (can well afford it but I'm just frugal) so I just started to trim my hair myself last March. Over time my skills got better but it is still hard to trim the back of my head decently. Grew a beard for the first time for about three months. My wife didn't like it and I didn't either. Took a couple of selfies and turned it into a goatee. She liked it but I didn't so goodbye to that to.

It's been almost a year now, no barber, saved a bit of money and time, look okay and avoided one point of catching the virus.

I used the same barber for over 30 years. Going there was like a trip to the comedy club! He was a real funny guy. Had so many jokes that had me tearing up with laughter much of the time.

Out front of his small shop on the sidewalk he had epoxied a silver dollar to the cement. He told me when it was slow he would just recline in one of his barber chairs and laugh at folks trying to pick up or pry that dollar off the pavement.

The place was about the equivalent to an old time general store. Caught up on all the local gossip there. When Paul the barber finally retired and sold the place, I tried it out once and it just wasn't the same. My wife took over the task and she does a nice job IMO.
