Yeah, I've wanted a 30-06 BAR for awhile so I'll probably keep it. The Rock River will likely find its way to the auction side.

Pretty good haul! Good looking BAR and I am partial to Rock Rivers - gotta 20" barreled varmint version in the safe. It is extremely accurate. Bob

A little more than I wanted to, but a little less than current market value, I gave 800 each.

Twice a year a a local auction house held a gun & accessory auction. Located in Ga at the NC line. Always enjoyed going as items from several states would show up. It was not a place to go just to buy a gun, but to find something unusual that you felt like you needed. Auctioneer retired a couple of years ago so it is no longer. But, before you decided to make a bid on an item you better know the terms. They were, final auction bid amount, + 15% buyer premium, + 6 1/2% sales tax + $15, transfer fee on each item. So that $1000 bid instantly turned into $1240.00.

Wow, never been to an auction with a buyer's premium. Auctions around here don't charge sales tax or transfer fee, there is no paperwork done so you now have an unregistered gun.

I always wanted a BAR in 338. I figured that would be one bad mama jama.

Agree. Folks would bid more than the item was worth and the see all the extra charges when they checked out and leave very dissappointed.

Buying something that is rare and especially if it is what you went to buy, bid and don't look back. I do that occasionally.
