We are getting a new flag
No this is not politics. I work part time at a MEPS center and in our room where we swear in new recruits there are flags for each service.
This week they are adding a flag for the Space Force.

What will it look like?
We have a complete set of Branch of Service flags we use at military funerals - the correct flag for the veteran's branch.
I doubt we will be doing any funerals for Space Force veterans anytime soon, but I suppose we should think about getting one so we would have the complete set.

I think that's cool. I know that a lot of folks think that the idea of a "Space Force" is stupid or comical but I think that something like that would would happen at some point in history, guess that's now.
We have all manor of specialized forces,, military and not, so yeah time for a new branch of service, "Space Men".
We all know how life here on earth can turn on a dime, look at 2020 so making contingency plans is not whimsical , its prudent. I doubt seriously that anyone here (and probably three or four generations that follow) will see colonization of the Moon or Mars but that is a path we need to start down as it will take the dedication of generations yet to come to achieve.
Just my humble opinion

Maybe it's for newly added "Geezer Corps". Reason-- I recently received an offer to join the National Guard. Apparently, there's a new arm of the armed forces utilizing geezers. Just put a rifle clamp on the old walker and away we go. Hey, from a static position geezers can put out just as much accurate fire as younger troopies.

A 'Geezer' squad could prove useful in high-risk tasks such as bomb deactivation and land mine detection.
Much like Muslim extremists tried to recruit terminally ill people for suicide bombing missions.

I remember a movie scene (drawing a blank on the Title) where one Military member is hitting on a girl in a Bar, and his line was He "was in the Military Space program," and all his fellow Military brothers were LOL at him. 😂
My how times change.

An almost geezer can join. My BIL's borther was in the Guard then got out. His break in service was about 10 years. He went back in when he was 48. They told him he had to go to boot camp all over again.
He said no problem, he is single and is at the gym every morning before work. He went to boot camp and shamed many of the 18 year olds. He was the topic in the Guard in his state, as they all ked did you hear about the 48 year old going to boot camp.
