If you figure that the kid who is climbing the pole at the upper right is 4 feet tall, that structure must be nearly 15 feet high. That's higher than I want to climb now.

The kid falling on the left hand side still walks with a limp.

Sadly very few schools have recess now, probably the reason why you have to look twice to determine what your looking at is a male or female.

Kids were built tougher back then.

gessshots that picture reminds me of a story of someone I know who is a tow truck driver. He does some work for AAA. He got a call to change a tire for a car on the local interstate.

He expected to find an older person who could not change a tire any more. Instead there were four guys in the car early 20's. He asked them why they did change the tire, maybe spare was flat or jack was messed up.

No they all said they did know where the spare was or the jack. Now he could have just changed the tire but instead he made them all get out of the car, told them were the spare was and the jack and proceeded to have them jack up the car and change the tire.

I could see him doing that as he is a no bs type of guy.

Years back, worked for a hospital with a School of Nursing. Would get a call from one of the students- "My tire is flat." Heartless people that we were, would go out and coach her thru changing a tire. Because next time, she might not be in our parking lot where she could call us.

Our elementary school playground had a merry go round that had two seat positions opposite each other with pumping handles. Around those two seats there was enough room for at least a dozen other kids to sit. We used to get that thing spinning around so fast I swear we must have hit a few marks on the G scale! It was not uncommon someone would be ejected before we stopped and I took a few flying spills myself. Bumps and bruises common but the ground was sandy enough to make abrasions without breaking any bones. 🙂

The most fun to be had was not just the ride on that thing but the crazy dizziness effects after getting off were what I would call early lessons to the effects of alcohol consumption! 😁
