I love Black powder filntlock rifles and for hunting a 54 is about the bomb with round balls. This would really be a great hunting rifle.

I've never hunted with a flint lock. Maybe I'll give that a try one day. I've killed several deer with a .50 cal side lock.

SCOUT5 a well tuned flintlock is faster on the ignition than a cap lock. That gun has a really good lock on it and I would bet its fast. I like Flintlocks and have several. I am really thinking of bidding on that one because it is just about perfect IMO. The only downside is I don't hunt anymore so it would just be a range and fun gun and I have plenty of them.
