I have both and most of the time I take the 35 out hunting more often.

The Hornady leverloutions really helped the 35

Ammo may be a big problem for it now. I stocked up quite a bit about 5 years ago so I think I'm good till the end of my hunting days

Years ago I had Marlin in 35. I'm always thinking about getting another one but haven't, yet.

I have shot and hunted with both. I like a 30-30.

That said the 35 Rem is a great cartridge too.

The 35 Rem is my choice. Rem 08 and 81 autoloaders were ahead of their time.

I started out with a Model 141 35 Remington pump. (as a grasshopper)

Hunted thick brush and lots of running shots at deer. could operate the gun faster than a auto. Hit quite a few fast running animals the 3rd or 4th shot Still have the rifle and it's in really nice shape to have been carried lots by a teenager but I took good care of my artillery. Also hunted with a Model 12 pump Winchester (holds 7 shots) and the two pump gun just fit me the same. Still reach for the 35 every once in awhile. Have lots of factory ammo and the rifle is very accurate, really surprising how accurate with 150 and 200 gr bullets. Have few boxes of the old Winchester silver tips. (for vampires)

I still reach for the 35 every once in awhile. I can shoot the 35 cal rifle at 100 yards and with a solid backstop I can hear the bullet hit the target and also could hear the 200 grain bullet smack at big animal sometimes. (but a animal has never been fast enough to jump out of the way of the slow moving 200gr bullet yet)

Also have a 30/30 part 64, part 65 all original Model 94 that is accurate but just keep it clean and ready to go. From factory has both 64 and 65 parts during the crossover year by serial number.

Do more of the long range type hunting now days with magnum rifles, the kind that kick hard and makes me feel like I'm running with the big dogs. If someone asks what caliber is that I don't have to say it's a 35 or a 30-30, I can say it's a big magnum and very deadly s far as I can see them.

Which caliber do I like you ask?

    I like all of them.
