Last time an FBI agent was killed serving a warrant was 2008. The majority who have passed away were agents at Ground Zero and died as a result of breathing the toxic air.

In the bloodiest day for the FBI in decades, two veteran agents were shot to death and three others wounded Tuesday morning when a gunman opened fire from inside his home as they attempted to serve a search warrant at an apartment in Sunrise as part of a child-pornography probe.

The gunman, not yet identified by the FBI, is believed to have monitored the approach of the agents with a doorbell camera and ambushed them through the unopened door with a hail of bullets from an assault-style rifle, law enforcement sources told the Miami Herald.

“There are several huge holes in the door going outward,” one law-enforcement official said.

The murders of agents Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger left the FBI reeling, as investigators began piecing together what went wrong in the type of raid that usually unfolds with little attention but is also fraught with danger for law enforcement.

Gunfire exploded just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday at the Water Terrace apartment complex in Sunrise in a neighborhood about five miles northeast of the Sawgrass Mills mall.

Increase in shootings. Hummm, setting the stage for more gun control.

Had to take a moment, good friend has son in the FBI. Different area but still part of the family.

One of my best friends and golfing buddies is a retired Justice Dept. agent. If only the public new what was actual going on in our government today😔

"ambushed them through the unopened door with a hail of bullets from an assault-style rifle"

"There are several huge holes in the door going outward"

Those two statements would seem to be contradictory. If it was what 'they' consider an 'assault rifle' the holes would be fairly small.

If there are 'several huge holes' then that would lead me to believe perhaps it was a shotgun that was used.

Regardless, this was a tragedy for those involved and will doubtless further fuel some gun control measures.

Hopefully the perp did not die quickly and had some painful time to ponder his misspent time here on Earth before roasting in hell.

how did he know they were coming ? Did he sit around 24/7 looking at surveillence cameras? Prayers for the agents and their families, Sad day for all

From what I read the perp watched them through his Ring Doorbell camera. When they got to the door the perp shot them through the door.

Now the news I have read said it was an assault style weapon but I also read that there were Huge holes in the door which to me would indicate a shotgun was used with either buckshot or slugs.

This is from 2 news sources so I cannot say 100% this is true. The FBI is not commenting yet to my knowledge.

a black synthetic stocked shotgun would be considered assault style by most liberal media............

I had that typed up ready to hit (post comment) last night Steve, and figured I would just stay out of it. Anyone that knows Firearms, knows that was some contradictory BS.

I also indicated it was a Shotgun with 0 Buck or Slugs, Sam, IMHO.

I am a cynic these days.

All the weird Deep State stuff always happen s in Broward County.

If the Deep State wants sympathy, it's either a racist story or a child pornography story.

I've lost faith in the FBI. Sadly I hope the story is true.

Why were 5 agents serving a warrant? And were there more?

If it was because he was a known threat, why were all 5 standing in front of the door?

Good point Trap. Why were the FBI serving a Warrant, instead of the Sheriff's dept. ?

This whole story does not make sense.

    Federal warrant, federal enforcement.

Most likely they did not do the do diligence on the perp. Also lackadaisical entry methods as standing in front of a door, is a no -no even a rookie knows.

Longmire even told Vic to not stand in front of the door.

They sent a whole SWAT team to arrest Roger Stone but this guy didn't warrant that?
