Sako Finnwolf (VL63) in .243

Very uncommon, valuable collectors item. I believe would bring a couple thousand or more . If in factory original, truly mint condition. The ammo is inconsequential value wise, as compared to the value of the Finnwolf. Sell the ammo locally. You will get a good price nowadays. The collector who buys a.243 Finnwolf in mint condition, isn't going to buy it as a shooter.

Thank you rufe-snow! Would you recommend finding a Sako collector's website to sell direct or using gunbroker to connect me with a buyer?

I would go the Gunbroker route. A open net auction, IMHO. Would be the best way to maximize your return.

That said. Of the few Finnwolf's I've seen over the years. All have been .308's. Never seen one in .243, although I was aware they were made in .243. You got a rare and potentially valuable one there, to a Sako collector.

Another option is to have one of GBs consignment dealers sell the rifle for you here on GB. Ricci Wright, and Locust Fork are two of the most popular ones. I think nunn is in the business of selling consignments too, but you would have to check with him.

Two things about having a well known seller sell for you:

1- If you are a new non-rated (no feedback) seller, you will most assuredly take a hit on the selling price because of that.

2- Locust Fork, and Ricci Wright have almost a cult following here on GB. They both publish lots of close-up. in focus, detailed pictures. They also have well written and detailed descriptions, and get top dollar on their auctions. You will most likely net more cash in your pocket selling through one of them than selling it yourself, unless you are an experienced (with numerous feedbacks) seller on GB.

Having a new non-rated seller jump in selling a rare high dollar collector firearm right out of the chute, makes a lot of buyers nervous.
