Shipping Primers or Percussion Caps, What is Legal ?
I am sure you all have noticed that the world has gone crazy on ammo and reloading components. My question is , how are some of the sellers listing shipping by 1 st class mail ? Everything I read says Hazmat fee required, must be licensed, etc.. Are they just willing to take the chance ? I sure this has been discussed. I have some percussion caps and black powder but don't want to go to jail . Thanks for any input.

not sure on percussion caps, but I think it is illegal to resale black powder, true black powder not the pyrodex and other imitations, or so I was told once at a guns show....

You need to be a licensed certified hazmat shipper...period... Items must be properly labeled, and shipped thru UPS pr Fedex. USPS will not allow it, and all of the sellers shipping it that way are doing it illegally, risking fines, and/or prison.

I ran an add on the local internet forum listing my primers & powder. I'm in WNC and been selling to people 3 states out. They PM me, we discuss what they want, agree on price, and meet at local PO. I deliver their stuff and they pay in cash. Can't believe people would jeopardize their freedom for a few dollars.
