FINALLY, My tax dollars at work for me.
My wife saw a parade of trucks out on the road, but we couldn't see what they were doing. So I went out there and talked to one of the guys and found out they were trimming back the trees that were hanging out over the road. That's the first time I've seen county crews on my township road.
It feels good to actually see my tax money being spent on me for a change.

They are not spending tax dollars.
The trees are on your property. They will charge you for the work.
They are collecting tax dollars . . . from you. You just haven't got the bill, yet.

And then, for every single person DOING the WORK, there are four that are supervising that person.

Problem is, they wont stop with the limbs hanging over the road. They will completely destroy any tree that they think is too close to the road or power line. they will not cut it down, because they dont want to haul it off. they will cut ALL the limbs off one side, or cut the top out, or cut a ring around the truck so it dies and will not get bigger. Makes me sick to see that.
