Any Mazda owners? Opinions good or bad welcome-------
One of the few brands of vehicle I have never owned and have zero experience working on. My son just bought a Mazda 3 for a "drive to work" vehicle. My first impression is that its a really well built car. Timing chain engine (I don't like timing belts), 4 speed automatic ( I also don't like CVT transmissions- seen way too many of them fail- including the wife's Altima), 4 wheel disc brakes and lots of nice features.
Any comments good or bad about Mazda are welcome and appreciated. A co-worker stated about Mazda- "It ain't a Toyota or a Honda reliability wise". Time will tell on that one.........

I like Mazdas, they make good reliable cars.

Had one of the originals with the Wankel engine. It was ok until the seals went south. Needless to say, hung it up,on Mazda's. The only vehicle's I had more problems with were Fords, and that as mostly dealer related.

I had a '73 & it ran well. Only sold it cause I wanted a pickup. Never had a Ford. Chevy is the brand that we had problems with.

I had an RX7 back in the mid 80’s, drove it hard and it was tough.
Bought my daughter a gently used Millenia in ‘07.
Both were great cars

One of the best mechanic I know loves old Mazda pick ups.He will not buy the newer Mazda/Ford Ranger. He will buy the old Mazdas for a shop truck, get them in perfect mechanical and spotless clean and usually one of his customers will offer to buy it. They are getting pretty scarce around here now,but so are pre 2000 Toyota and Nissan pick ups.

My first car was a 1980 Mazda 626............it was a little tank............had one other after that and it was also a good car. I wouldn't hesitate to have another one.............

I loved my 1839 Mazda Conastoga. That 3 model should work well.

My wife had an MX-5 for a couple of years around 2005(?).
I thought it was a great little car. Well engineered, and fun to drive.

Not widely known but a lot of Mazda stuff is made by Toyota. That according to Toyota Master Technician on Youtube Car Care Nut, who ought to know.
My elder daughter has a Mazda 7 I think. SUV. Seems to be a fine and trouble-free vehicle.

I have two in my name that my daughters drive. One is a Mazda 3 and the other is a CX5. They are pretty well built cars that I like a lot. I don't think they get the attention they deserve.
So far, the only issue I've had was a cold air diverter on the 3. It's kind of a cheap plastic part that broke twice under warranty, and that was eventually replaced with a metal mechanism that has worked flawlessly since. It's a pretty minor complaint in my book.
