You're thinking of cinder blocks.

Had a neighbor tell me once he was gonna do a brake job on his car and I pop off with I got ramps if you wanna use them.... he just stared at me for awhile... then I released what I said and told him I meant jack stands....doh!

I have a set but they are yellow. I use them when changing the oil in my wifes car. They work good but you don't want to drive off them.

Did you buy them with the intent to use them and then return them, tho?

Had a neighbor that decide to build him a ramp to drive up on to service his truck.
Worked well until he hit the brakes, Forward momentum took ramp and all down.

That nice L-82 Convertible Corvette I had. Man made an offer I could not refuse. Funny thing that car was for sale at the Chevrolet Dealership when new across the road from the High School. I found it on ebay in Ohio and purchased it decades later. Documentation from that Dealership. I use to ride my scooter by and look at it wishing I could afford it. Sold it for a bunch of money on the rarity.

ya prices ramping up ? my take on the photo ( thank you from capt obvious π )
as for the car ramps I have three sets one set I bought off a dealership closing out 45 yrs ago two sets at least 35 yrs old, the oldest set of ramps you may remove the ramp sections after driving on to the platform portion if needed to make it easy to get under the car . but I have not used any of them for at least 30 years . floor jack and jack stands all I use
if I were a bit younger I would go for a car /truck lift as they have become inexpensive unlike the old inground systems , but as I do not work so much on cars and getting older I doubt if I would get my money worth now, but looking back as a 20 yr old and all the time spent sliding and crawling under a vehicle they would have been the cats meow
will add I did but a set (about four years ago the Chinese of course ) big rubber wheel chocks less than 10.00 for the pair beats a couple pieces of wood or a rock LOL

Had a set of those years ago. Gave them away when I realized that scanning a credit card is easier and cleaner than changing my own oil.
As to the GB forum analogy, if you start something here, it is liable to become a lot more involved, dirty, and troublesome than you expected - and the whole thing might collapse on you.

No, I have had them for about 25 years and I don't even remember where I got them, probably at K mart.

Probably so. It will remain as an oldtimer memory with not much chance of retelling.

I remember a thread about a person buying something with the intention of using it once a returning it.

A few years back, reminded me of the toilet paper roll direction debate. Don
