#4, is no exaggeration. Shortly before my father died my parents re-carpeted the house with shag that was so lengthy that my mother used a special rake to bring the carpet back to full height after vacuuming.

I guess "lengthy carpet" is Brit Speak (an obsolete English dialect still spoken by those living on a rainy Island in the Atlantic) slang for something else.

Yeah thanks to the stupid austin powers movies, you can't say that type of carpet's name even though most of us probably had it at some time in the houses when lived in here in the states and I remember the rakes.
