.300 & .250-3000 Savage

I mentioned Starline in an earlier post. They produce quite a lot of brass for obsolete cartridges. I have several rifles in the above chamberings and would happily stock 500 of each case. Now I know the .250 is dead and rarely lamented--most of us have already forgotten the origin of the second half of the .22-.250 cartridge designation. And the .300 is "just" a deer rifle cartridge; a 99 Savage or a Remington 81. And a guy who shoots a deer every year with his .300 usually does it with a factory cartridge. But there's got to be a lot of those old rifles (and some relatively new ones) out there and cartridges hard to find and costly. So I think the brass would sell.

So if anybody's got any influence with Starline, put in a word for me, I've already asked them.

    I have been told that the 6.5 cm brass can be used to make 300 and 250 savage brass.

    Geri: That's a good suggestion--I hadn't thought of that. I have noticed the similarity between the 6.5 and the .250. The only problem (if that IS a problem) is that I have rifles in 6.5 Creedmore, too, and I like correct headstamps. But a good-sized batch of that brass on hand would certainly not go to waste.

    I talked to one person that has a 22-250 AI and he uses the CM brass for that caliber.
