Thank you guys ! This is my first ever bad selling experience . Do I have to file a non paying bidder claim to avoid being charged the fees on the first auction ? I hate to give someone bad feedback but The guy bumped a 200 dollar bidder on this auction last time and Then he didn’t pay or correspond . ( not that I think 200 is a deal but it was penny start no reserve so that is fair ) anyway . Appreciate you guys getting this one off the ground

You do have to file the non paying bidder report and don't feel bad about leaving bad feedback....someone that doesn't follow through deserves it and it helps Gun Broker keep up with habitual deadbeats so they know when they've had enough chances.

Wish it would have gone through at the original price!

A man has to back up his word. One time I was looking for some 7 mm Rem Mag ammo and I was concentrating on 10 box lots. Most were $220 to $300 and I noticed one auction with a BIN of $190 so I jumped on it. After I bought it I noticed the price was for 5 boxes. I chalked it up to experience and after that I read the fine print BEFORE I bid! Some might have tried to weasel out of the sale or simply failed to respond but I wasn't raised that way.

I just looked at auctions and the last few 5-box lots have gone for about $270. Whew! That is just insane.

I’ve bought and sold on here on and off for over ten years and never had a bad experience . I had one buyer grump a little on a rifle once and that was it . All in all gun people are usually good for their word . I even take checks if I talk to someone and they sound normal .

So six hours before I could file a non paying bidder claim . And 2 or 3 hours after I leave an “f” feedback . The 44 mag buyer sends me the money . With ZERO communication still . Dig through the stash and believe I will be able to satisfy the second auction where the ammo is relisted. I am going to have to work with the successful bidder of the second auction . So if it’s one of you guys reading this and winning call me so We can discuss if 50 rounds of hunting 44 and some hi dollar personal defense rounds of 44 mag plus some additional extra rounds would be an adequate substitute . Gjshaw check your messages .

Seems to me that if you got paid in less than 5 days after the auction closed, you have no complaint. Auction rules state buyer and seller have 5 days to communicate.

You must have been born under a lucky star. I had so many problems with the losers that reside on this auction. That I wrote it off years ago. You name it, and these clowns, have tried play it on me. From chiseling on shipping a magazine. "Because I know what It costs to ship a magazine". To backing out of a gun purchase, because she knew. "I was a crook because I lived in a trailer park, and she was going o leave negative feedback on me" To sending the Money Order to the wrong address. After I specifically gave them the correct current address.

Threw a bid in. Currently High Bidder. (Probably not for long though.)

One of two calibers I could use more of.

Just read your caveat on the second Auction. I'm easy to deal with. If I win it, some extra rounds of the lesser would make us good. We can talk, I'll call.

Any chance you can (& should) add the caveat to the "second" auction?

I just read the 1st post or two here, and then linked to the auction, without being aware of the caveat.

I’m going to make whoever wins the second auction feel they have been treated more than fairly . I have one full box of the Winchester hunting load . Then I have a full box of expensive Remington 44 mag. Then I have a partial box of critical defense 44 mag and a partial box of a 300 grain hard cast lead bear stopper round . Whoever wins the auction is going to get 3 of the 4 boxes . Their choice . So probably 118 to 120 rounds .

the reason I was bitc hing about the first transaction is the buyer NEVER communicated his intent . He still has never returned any of my emails . I don’t believe he would have if I hadn’t left him an f feedback . Only changed it to a c because he finally paid me . I expect communication promptly whether I’m buying or selling . 4 days is not prompt unless you’re out of pocket .

Anyway . Read my feedback and bid with confidence . I don’t believe in shorting anyone .

Ken, that's way too much recoil for your tiny hands.

Those 300 and 320 grain loads do kind of remind you you’re shooting !!! Not much fun after 20 or so .

  • asop

My deer loads were 300 gr. with 25 grns.of #296 powder. The hollow points were set out at the outer ring. Deadly. However my range loads wern't of the same combination!!

I played around with some 444 rifle slugs and 2400 powder several years ago trying to develop a bear load that had 300 plus grains moving without blowing up my Smith 29. Had a couple ruger s but just never liked shooting them like the smith . They didn’t appreciate me at our indoor range when I went occasionally . I ended up going back to about 240 grains bullet and sending it faster.

I have bought and sold with 100% good luck on the auction side. But it's not been recent. On the discussion side, I have found nothing but straight up honest and generous folks.

Is .44 Mag (I know it's premium) really going for over a dollar a round now?

    0
  • jesnlsn

No sir it’s not going for a dollar . The last lot I sold went for 2 dollars a round .. 222 match going for 2 as well .

  • Ricci.Wright

I am very happy for you guys making all this money on ammo. I am even happier that I have plenty of ammo. I have only one .44 mag left, a Ruger Alaskan. I would hate to have to pay $80.00 for a box of 44'a but I guess if you need them. I just had a case of Hornady 6.8 ammo brought in so I guess I will be listing that.

  • KenK/84Bravo

Probably should have contacted my local store to see if they had any. (May be one of the few calibers still available.) The only ammo I could use more of, is the .44 and .270 - Primarily because they are relatively New calibers for me.

(But) I like buying off of Gunbroker. Almost 99%+ firearms. This about the only ammo auction I can remember ever bidding on. I am at my max bid right now. So - If'n any of you REALLY want it...........

You guys that are long term forum members aren’t really my intended market so be sure if you win one of my auctions to let me know . Most of the sales that have been ridiculous amounts are going to new buyers who must be panic buying.

  • kannoneer

But we have our free govt. money and it is burning a hole in our pockets!

But you are certainly right about the new guys showing up with more money than sense. It makes one wonder if things will ever drop back to MSRP. But I have thought that after every ammo panic and it eventually comes back to normal. In the Panic of '13 it took a LONG time for .22 to return to 2012 prices. About 5 years.
