A 59 year old man went through U.S. Army basic training last year. The oldest man ever to complete the course.

Wow, what a story. I went thru basic at Ft. Knox in the fall of '63. If I walked into a recruiter office now they would fall off their chair laughing. 😂

Wow. I was of the belief that someone of that age wouldn't get past the initial interview and not be allowed to join.

Yeah, I couldn't even join the local NG when I moved down here, (9yrs ago.) being 5 years Active Duty Prior Service (Army) with a MOS they wanted. I would have been 51 at that time. (Looked in my mid-late 30's.)
