E-Mails?

Does anyone else think it might be a good idea for us to exchange e-mails with 8 or 10 of our GB friends that are in our geographic region just in case the lights go out?

If we each picked 8 or 10 in out general area we may be able to keep up some form of communication system amongst ourselves nationwide should the worst (for GB) occur.

By using the PM system while it's up and running this would seem to be a fairly easy task.

Thoughts?

    Just send a PM to a number of the folks that are or that you think might be in your general area. Send them your e-mail address and, if you want, any other contact info you wish to share.

    I got HPD's e-mail address and responded with mine. I think I'm going to share my cell phone number, too. Just in case.

    This action used to be called a 'telephone tree' which came into use when small emergencies occurred in the local schools. You've all heard it before, one person calls 10 people, the 10 people each call 10 people and so on. It's faster and easier than one person trying to contact everyone by themselves.

    Interesting thought Neo. One problem I see is that I don't know who is in my general area. With our previous ver. a member's location was available but not now.

    Look through the thread below. It'll take you a while, but you can get a decent idea of who's near you.

    The closest one to me that I contacted is three hours away. The farthest, about 6.

    Thanks Neo. I looked at that post when it first was listed. I didn't know it was that well organized. I'm in IN but <45 minutes from IL. I can't message 59 members so I may just start a new post.
