    We had a similar question:

    @...: https://forums.gunbroker.com/discussion/1897682/question-for-ffls-that-do-gunbroker-transfers

How long does it take for you after a gun is delivered to your shop to have it ready for the new owner to pick it up?

    Thanks, Mark

A big issue in many shops are limitations on the numbers of customers allowed inside. Lots of dealers are eager to allow potential buyers for items "on the shelf" inside, at the expense of people looking to pick up their Gun Broker purchases.

These are strange times. Being flexible is important. I'm not, but that only applies to the forums! πŸ˜‰

A good question to ask your FFL before you hire him. I never have to wait over a day. He would probably call me when he gets it if I asked.

A lot depends upon shipping time. I often get a delay, so it can take up to 5 or 6 days from dealer receipt to my pick up. Add shipping and you have 8 to 10 days or so, sometimes two weeks. Figure you are saving ammo during the wait.

I get all of that, but my concern is what if the FFL stops being responsive and begins to ignore calls, emails and does not offer a store front to just swing by? I reached out before I made the transaction and asked for the details. They explained to me they would reach out as soon as it arrived. However they did not, I waited a few days and nothing so I reached out, ended up getting a response that they were backed up but should be able to get to it over the next few days. I said great just let me know when and where and I have never heard back. That would be 4 days ago now. I sent another message asking if they had any updates and they are now being non responsive. Gun broker doesn’t offer any protection in this situation so what are my options if a FFL try’s to hold my firearm indefinitely?

I guess the question I'd ask is why would he/she want to hold it indefinitely? It profits them in no way, shape, or form to do so. My bet is that with all the crazy going on in the world they are pretty much overwhelmed with the amount of business they're trying to handle and will get to your item when time allows.

I hear a lot about how busy the gun stores are these days, but in the past few days I've visited every gun store within about 30 miles from me and I don't see a lot of customers. Over half of them there was little reason to be in there as supplies of nearly everything was quite low.
