They caught the big one. All in the crew were injured, some seriously. More unintended consequences from WWII.

- Back in the 1960s a Civil War ironclad was recovered- along with the ammo for the main guns. These were BLACK POWDER filled projectiles- and had been soaking in salt water for 110 years. Roughly a third were still live.
- In 2008, a Chester Virginia man was killed by a Civil War 9 inch shell he was working on.
The story of the fishing boat was noteworthy because of the injuries' to multiple crewmen as well as the damage to the boat. But UXOs can be found just about anywhere. A friend had a little old lady in her late 80s that came into his shop, and asked if he could dispose of one of her late husband's souvenirs- and set a live 50mm Japanese knee mortar round on the counter.
