The dryer ate my bra, and won't let me have it.
Words I never thought I would hear out of my wife's mouth. It was a struggle, but I got it out.

I had to retrieve some coins stuck in our washer not too long ago. They had somehow become wedged in between the tub and the agitator.
My wife reminded me once again, to empty my pants pocket of coins before they go into the dirty laundry bin. 😖

I dont use it anymore but I have left several cans of Skoal in pockets that went through the washer so I know about the lecture.

The dryer is only about 2 months old, so it hasn't started hiding socks yet. Just bras. 😁

Back in 1984 we rented a house that came with a washer & dryer. A few months into the place the dryer was acting up so I took it apart figuring it just needed a new belt. I was right and the fix was easy. The cause of the old belt wearing out was quite an eye opener for me. Someone lost a very lengthy 18 carat gold chain in that dryer! 😁
I jokingly told my wife after untangling that mess of gold in there that the previous tenant most likely was Mr. T 😅

My wife doesn't lecture about money in the wash, she just keeps it. One time it was a couple of $20's. She waved them at me and said, "Mine now."

I can understand that issue. I never knew how much bras cost until my mother went in a nursing home and they kept on losing her laundry.
I was shocked at the cost for a bra when I had my wife buy new bras my mother. After that we took her launday home and washed it ourselves.
Makes boxers look like a bargain.

Wife said....look what I found....as she laid out the bills to dry.
What she finds washing clothes is hers.
No lecture, she likes finding laundered money.
(never carry coins, if I ever get any, they go into "that place" in the car)

The bra was probably left in her "boyfriend's" car and the easiest excuse was the one you got.
As far as the complaints about leaving stuff in your pockets, my response is "You spend 2 minutes loading the washing machine. Spend 3 minutes and check the pockets". If the complaints continue, offer to remove said machine and "allow" her highness to build a fire in the back yard to heat a big cast iron pot of water in which to hand wash those clothes.

You couldn't be further from the truth. The hooks on the back of the bra were caught between the drum and the front panel of the dryer. I had to get a pair of pliers and force them out, destroying the hooks, She then threw the bra away. Hopefully, she learned to hook the strap together before she pulls that stunt again.

Wife had the same thing happen to her. She now washes 'em in a mesh bag to stop it from happening.
