    Magazines in General.

I've been selling magazines for years (30+). Only 4,000 in stock at any one time.

I prefer factory original magazines, if that can be found. MegCar is the next bet aftermarket, and they make magazines for many companies, as factory.

Generally stay away from Triple K (but over the years we found some of these that work well).

USA (out of business). and Pro Mag we lump together mostly as Junk. These go in our Junk Box at Gun shows.

I believe Yeager was mainly speaking about these new mags from a company called Shield. Mec Gar makes oem stuff that’s great. Pro Mag and Triple K are garbage. For 1911’s Wilson Combat and Chip McCormick are better than oem.

My 1911 A1 uses Scoville C-S mags and likes them just fine.

I also heard Wilson and McCormick but I wanted to be as authentic / age appropriate as possible.

Promag is the worst of the worst. The last one I got was crushed by my sledge hammer and thrown in the lake! Too expensive if free!

After 20 yrs of ownership, I recently sent a Ruger P85 back to the manufacturer for the mk II safety upgrade. I was advised by others who'd had the upgrade done that my pistol would come back polished up and looking like new. Ruger's website advised it would come back with a new 10 rd magazine as compensation for the inconvenience. Well, it came back with the same scuffs and holster wear, but based on my zip code I guess, it had a factory 15 rd magazine instead. I'm happy about that cuz any of the aftermarket mags I've tried have been crap!
