Their elected government and city leaders chose to soft hand and release their rioters I'd say when Portland or any other part of Seattle wants visitors they demonstrate that desire for jobs and revenue with votes.

Seattle is just as bad as Portland, and for the same reasons. We have a totally inept group of people (I use the term "people" only to be polite) running this once livable city. The lunatics have won the day in more ways than one. When we reached the point that our so called city attorney wants to have all the street thugs,drug dealers,theves,arsonists,freeway blockers etc. put back on the street (if they are charged at all !) "because they will get more help out there". And who falls VICTIM in the mean time ? Seattle is just another open sewer run by fools.

The city of Portland might not be so dumb after all. In fact, would consider the add campaign brilliant.
NY times is read by the type of people who believe what's happening in Portland is a good thing. They could have a great vacation time there. Consider "Freebees'' from Walmart, Walgreens etc as minor shoplifting is acceptable and have little worry of any law enforcement since the Portland City Council does not support LE and their force has been defunded significantly.
Look for similar ads to appear in Philadelphia, St Louis, Chicago, and other DEMOCRAT controlled cities. END Sarcasm
