Now It's Chlorine....
Just saw a notice from a local water district. They put in a chlorine order, and their supplier is out, and don't know when they will have some. They told the water district that this is a nation wide problem.

Oh, I don't think there's that much chlorine on earth, but I got to hand it to you for trying!

My pool supplier tells me that chlorine tabs are backordered. The largest producer suffered a fire a month ago cutting production by over 50% . She expects her next shipment in middle july .

I found out about that surprise in early May. One of the major chlorine plants in Louisiana was wiped out by a storm, and the situation is aggravated by all the folks that decided to install pools during COVID (not me - mine is 20 + years old). Chlorine tablets and shock are pretty much unobtainium from my usual sources around here, and I seriously thought I wouldn't open my pool, this year. However, my pool maintenance guy came up with enough to (hopefully) get me through the season - albeit at 50% - 75% more than I'm used to paying. When I run low, I expect I'll have to winterize, regardless of the date.

Sure glad that my pool is salt .............................. I know .............................. salt will skyrocket soon .......... sigh
