They always look grumpy
Swallows built a nest a few years ago. I enjoy their yearly springtime return and the emergence of the hatchlings. Tickles me that they look like grumpy old men.

I have always loved barn swallows. Things like their flying antics, like dive bombing cats outside the barn!! Things like the lack of fear they seem to have around humans as you walk past their nests. I have reached up and scratched the chest on young birds while still in their nests many times!!

You forgot the part about crapping all over anything below the nest. I'd let them live if it weren't for that.
