Unintended consequences
The unplanned addition of a federal holiday on short notice put at least one government agency into near chaos this weekend. Supervisors who were needed on the job suddenly were not allowed to work because there was no money in the budget to pay them holiday pay. Peons in the field lack support needed to accomplish time sensitive goals. Monday will be fun.

It was political theater for The BLM. They could not admit a White president was first to announce their freedoms but took The news later in Galveston Texas and decide it was more fitting to make political hay with it for a national holiday.
