For some reason my tablet won't let me post a link. If you do a Google search for: NSSF new gun buyers 2020, you will find information regarding their estimate of 5 million new gun buyers last year.

On this site things like a bidders feedback can give an indication if they are new to Gun broker. The price of firearms and ammo on the auction side has skyrocketed because of the increased demand from all those new buyers being added into the mix.

There have been other shortages before for ammo and particular classes of firearms, like AR15s, but with the pandemic, gov't free money and political and social unrest this past year and a half it seems all types of firearms are in short supply and bringing top dollar. It is good to have more firearm owners but the sudden influx has made it a bit inconvenient for everyone. Bob

Actually, I think used guns don't qualify as a new gun purchase.

The next gun I buy will be a new gun.

"Actually, I think used guns don't qualify as a new gun purchase."

I'd say they are "new" to the buyer!
