A country boy probably can't survive. A guy I knew once, told me if the SHTF he would be able to survive eating venison he would hunt. I asked him how many other hunters would be trying to do the same?? I told him if there really was no food, if he was out trying to get a deer he would end up being on somebodies plate.
You can live off the land. No problem. But you can't live off the land if everyone is living off the land. Not enough deer, fish, rabbits, squirrels out there.

If we ran out of food in this country i am not so sure Country Boys (hunters) would run out of critters to eat. Probably half the people in inner cities would kill each other over what food is left. Believe it or not some parents would murder to feed a starving child. Those that are left standing that migrate to Rural America to poach on a Country Boy's land might well end up shot for trespassing. I recall prisoners in New York State, I think it was that rioted over being served fresh road kill venison. A lot of things would have to change. No matter what, not a pleasant thing to think about.--------------------------------------Ray
