I’ve been busy the last couple weeks bringing a new member into my own personal forum... meet the new grandbaby!
He’s been in the NICU, we hope to be able to bring him home this week. What a miracle. Thank you Lord!

After lurking here forever and finally joining up a couple of years ago, I have seen a lot of members come and go. Some banned for not following the rules, some for being dishonest and some for just being ***holes. A lot have just chosen not to post anymore and their whereabouts are unknown. Unfortunately quite a few have become a part of the fallen members brigade. However, we are lucky that good new folks find us and decide to stick around. A forum needs a variety of well thought out opinions to survive and these two as well as a few others are fulfilling that need. Glad they are here and I hope we attract a few more good members. Bob

That may or may not be accurate. Anyways, as one ages, they tend to mellow out some. Things that were important at some stage in one's life, is all of a sudden, not so important anymore.
I do believe that I have mellowed out to some degree or another. If I haven't, I'm surely disappointed in myself.

Well, there are degrees of being an ***hole. After all I'm still here, so I must not rank very high on the ***hole meter. I'm working on it though, because one should always have goals. Betcha I can spin that old meter all the way around without hardly trying!

Guess who got to come home today?!!! WAHOOOO!!!!!!!
Here's the world's best dad, the one I finally allowed to marry my daughter, who works 7 days a week and has been at the hospital all night every night in the NICU with his son. He loves his baby more than life itself. Finally he got a chance to sit down and that was it... OUT.
Sleep well, son ... you have a whole new adventure beginning.

For some reason, because I off and on lurked so long before joining, I don't feel like a new guy. Perhaps maybe an old new guy or a new old guy or something like that. But thanks for the mention.
If I had joined a dozen or so years ago, I probably would have been banned long before now. Age has enabled me to be more circumspect with my postings. Before I retired and relaxed a bit my attitude filter wasn't always working like it should have. The frustrations of 10+ years of semi-retired 40 hour weeks of working with the public at a gun counter would have all been taken out on you folks. It probably would have been therapeutic for me but sure wouldn't have been put up with very long by the moderators.😀 Bob
