Been once tried explaining it to someone but you have to be there in person. I may very well try to make this a Trip now that I'm retired.

I have been a 1/2 dozen or so times my youngest son and DIL have went for years got to know some great people . and made friends with some of the big time MG owners and dealers
he was over a couple nights ago we talked about it the place will be packed for the last go around
my guess insurance and pressure from the greenies not to mention the headache of putting it together twice a year
I sure they did well in the $$ department
the top of the hill firing line you had to have some one will there spot to you to get a position to shoot , LOL
the night shoots was the most eye candy . tracers fireballs to name a few
the mini guns were / are the stars of the show all the full autos ( are fun to shoot and watch ) and neat to see such a wide range of firearms to here the mini guns and watch them eat up ammo is a sight and sound to behold
it was also good to see so many people with a common interest in one place

If you've never been to a machinegun shoot and live in the midwest, or anywhere between the east coast and North Dakota, I encourage you to look into making the trip.
I've been there three times and I can tell you first hand that it is a blast. (pun intended).

When I went I think they raffled off a ticket to go up in the helicopter and shoot, might have that wrong but regardless the brass raining out of that chopper like crazy was a huge adrenalin rush
