Dogs are so sensitive to our feelings!

My wife is not a crier. As in she NEVER cries. This morning I am sitting at the kitchen table reading and drinking coffee. My wife walked into the kitchen, standing no more than 3-4 feet behind me. I can hear no sound coming from her but both Border Collies start acting strange. The young dog is starting to go hyper on me. Lola never acts hyper except for tennis ball time and that isn't hyper, that is sprint city, flying across the yard. OK, what is with Lola. She is looking at my wife, and bouncing around.


I turn around, Hot Momma has tears silently running down her cheeks. Both dogs have realized Mommy is crying. If Mommy is crying something is wrong!!

Today is the day my in-laws are starting the trip back to Russia. My wife is positive this is their last trip here so she is very upset. Usually they are here 5 months out of every year. This time they couldn't go back because of the Kung Fu Flu and have been here over 18 months. 18 months. Yes, you read that right, 18 months. In 18 months I only went off on my father-in-law once. Once! Think about your in-laws in your house for 18 months. I am truly a prince among men!! 😂

Anyway, Momma is unhappy so both BCs are unhappy. They are ever so sensitive!! I prefer BCs to people. Seriously!!

    Dogs sense most every feeling their masters have.

    Example, they can be trained to detect seizuers before they happen, cancer, and on and on.

    Once in a while I will do something that P\O's the wife. Just ordinary things (to me) but those sensitive Sicilians can be very hard to read. My dogs always let me know when she is not happy.

    dreher, 18 months? You are a prince among men. As others have said, dogs do have a 6th sense. They can read your emotions and more. My wife was a geriatrtic nurse for almost 50 years. They had a "comfort or whatever" dog that lived in the nursing home. She told me that the dog would know when someone was going to die and stayed with them the last few hours. I didn't believe her for the first 5-10 times she told me but finally I became a believer.

    There is a lot going on in this world that the textbooks don't tell us.
