I know this doesn't jive well with a lot of the conspiracies I've seen folks espouse on this forum. Oh well.

Supply and demand. This time both changed, less supply coupled with more demand. Then toss interruption of the supply line r/t COVID and we get what we got.

It's a little more complicated than that, but those two factors are at the basis of any economic problem.

Very true. I suspect the folks that are making more money by not working is playing a big part.

Unreal the shortages, and price increases we are being hit with in the HVACR industry. Every day I get a minimum of 6 emails informing me of a price increase coming up. R410A and other 'R4' refrigerants just went ballistic this past week.

End users better grab their ankles cuz those increases are going to trickle down, and they will be the ones to pay. Manufacturer to wholesaler to contractor to 'end' user. End is highlighted for a reason.

Yikes! It seems to be hitting exactly every industry.

I seen this one coming when they announced the election results.

People were also dancing in the streets. I thought you better do your happy dance because before long you are going to be crying.

Ronnie Milsap also informed me he also seen it coming.

As I've been saying, we haven't even BEGUN to feel the pain from this Rona crap yet!! This will take several years to recover from, and it hasn't even begun yet.

It doesn't help that there's a massive backlog of cargo ships waiting to unload in CA. It has been improving (some), but as both demand and prices ramp up, so do cargo ships needing to unload. At one point it was a resource issue at the docks, but it's not going to be long before it's an overall capacity issue. And, short of building new ports (which isn't reasonable to expect), it's just going to take time. If all this wasn't bad enough, then you've got logistics in the wrong place. Much of the inter-modal logistics in this country is in the wrong location now. And, because our production is WAY down, there's not enough demand for these inter-modal logistics to move back outwards to the coasts. It's the "Perfect Storm" in a supply and demand equation.

When you add in JIT delivery systems it just compounds the problem even further.

Maybe this is what the video says also (didn't watch it...bandwidth issues with videos). But, as many here may know, I work in the aviation side of the industry, and the carry-over from this problem is just staggering. Everything which is even remotely able to fly and carry cargo, is airborne, and has been 24x7 since this crap began.

Heh, and THEN there's the whole Airbus A-380 fiasco (which many outside the industry haven't even heard of...yet).

It's a nightmare which we all are not going to be waking up from anytime soon at all!

Yeah, that's pretty much all in the video.

    Sorry for being redundant then.

No problem. You said you weren't able to watch the vid. I was just pointing it out in case you are ever able to. Have a great day FCD. :)

    Excellent video.

Not sure how I missed it 1st time around.

Taiwan could literally be ground zero for World War 3.

It’s interesting this video is from a commercial goods perspective.

The reality is much scarier from a Defense industry point if view.
