....liberal progressives in America long for Cuban socialism and Cubans long for American freedom?

Well, I think you're being too kind. I don't think Cubans have "socialism", I think they're commies. American progressives think that sounds great, while the poor old Cubans are plenty tired of that. I think we need to go back to McCarthyism, and hunt down commies in this country......

The liberal progressive here have Big backers now because they need a NWO socialist one world quasi -government. Most Southern Republicans and a few conservative Democrats do not. Also the Second Amendment is an existential threat to any such endeavor because it gives to much power to an unstructured set of citizens with no control over them until they cross the line.
Plus with the shift to trans-humanism with science and technology will cause many humans to be be displaced by A.I. machines and average humans will be no longer needed to run a future perfect society,
Our founding Fathers and Mothers knew this well from past secular governments and evidence of past civilizations in very ancient times.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
