Savage 99 DOM

I need the DOM for a Savage Model 99 (No letter, just Model 99) serial # 625XXX, I have tried looking up serial number charts but all I found did not list numbers this high. Thanks in advance.

  I have a tentative date of 1952, there should be a letter D on the lever boss to confirm this. Bob

  I found markings on the lever boss. A circle around 2B. From a chart I found on this site I believe the DOM is 1950. Am I correct ?

  I believe the circle is actually an oval.

  That indicates inspector 2 and 1950. Savage serial numbers aren't always in perfect sequence and this is shown by the estimates I found that said the 625xxx range of numbers weren't made until 1952. If you are sure that it is a B, then I would go with 1950. Bob

  Yes it is a B. The oval and 2B are very clear, just small so I had not noticed them before. Thanks for your input.
