Branson going to space
In his Airplane contraption at 9 am

Weather delay - takeoff now set for 8:30 Mountain Time. You can watch the flight here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KI2_cpR9Ek
IMNSHO, these sub-orbital jaunts do not make the passengers "astronauts" any more than taking an airliner somewhere makes you a pilot. That goes for either Virgin Galactic or Blue Origin vehicles. It's even debatable to say you've been to space on such a ride because the boundary is not fully agreed upon, and you'd only barely cross the edge anyway. As an analogy, it's like a foreign vessel coming to within 12 miles of our coast and claiming they'd been to America.

Good for him. I agree with Rocky that he's not really going into space, but on the flip side he is helping to advance the science. Sub-orbital hops may become the new way of getting from A to B (LA to London?) if the technology pans out and the price is right.
Safe travels!

Branson trying to go into space. At 250k ticket I think the fad will die away

Successful flight. It's a first in many ways. Congrats.

But, but, but, what was their carbon footprint? I imagine there are some greenie weenie liberals heads exploding right now. 😁
This was an historic day and you have to give him credit for believing in his concept enough to ride that sucker himself. If I was younger and a bit richer I'd sign up to take a flight. Bob

I'm old enough, that I won't see the day that we'll all have "vehicles" that will be able to fly. All this talk of flying cars and such.
Can you even begin to imagine the carnage that will occur? It's bad enough right now, with Tesla's and all the morons that actually think the car will drive itself with no input from the nut behind the wheel.
People are dying in these. Also, people who don't own one, are dying as well, thanks to those who do.

I once made a positive post. You must have missed it. 😁
I remember, that was the one where you said you were not coming back! Don

Told you so
CNN's Brian Stelter frets over rocket launch: Is it ethical to fly into space during 'climate crisis?'
CNN’s Brian Stelter poo-pooed Richard Branson’s foray into space on Sunday, pondering aloud if it was ethical to launch costly, fuel-guzzling rockets into space amid the "climate crisis."What a maroon!

If it is profitable at 250K or even higher there will be a long line of passengers as long as they can keep the ships flying.
