The woman riding with the child is probably an educator or a member of the media. These are the people that despise America as founded and indoctrinating all those under their purview.

If it's true that 40% of the graduates in some inner city school districts are functionally illiterate, then this may be part of the smokescreen.
It is my theory that the kids are all being taught to only respond to their emotional reaction to a keyword or symbol instead of learning that the flag represents a country that allows dissent and gives them a great deal of freedom to work for change.
When you can't get much more than emotional reactions out of even apparently literate people, you just assume it's the fashion. Then the literate sound just like the illiterate which camouflages them.
Then people think there's so much economic inequality just because of "systemic racism" not because some inner city schools just aren't doing that good a job, or some people just don't insist their kids learn to read, and their schools go ahead and give them degrees anyway.
