S&W pre-model # .357 combat magnum
winchester 94 30-30 (far from collector grade) was wifes dad & now hers. Got her first deer on her first hunt with that gun.

Wife bought me a Ruger single six convertible.....BEFORE we were married.
One of the reasons that I thought she might be a keeper.
She loves riding motorcycles, and wanted to live in the mountains.
Almost 50 years later and I am still trying to decide if she is a keeper.
I am leaning on.......she just might be. 😁
NO WAY I would get rid of my single six.

I have a few that I inherited or received from a good friend. Perhaps one or two others.
M-1 Carbine, S&W 39, Springfield 1911-A1, Mauser in 25-06 that I helped build from a bare receiver, Swiss-K31, NDS built AK-47, NAA-22LR, Mossberg 590, Tec-9, and probably a Ruger SP101.
None are very valuable but are important to me.

While I have several guns that I'm 'fond of', the only PK's are the ones I inherited from Dad.
#1: High Standard HDM
#2: Ithaca 37 20 ga pump
#3: Mauser 22lr bolt action target rifle expatriated during WW2

I have really only let two guns go. A Win model 70 7mm Remington mag that I sold back to the guy that sold it to my dad . And a worn Glock 23 that I traded for a 6.5-20 VariXIII and some store credit.

It has to do with PK (Permanent Keepers) as in sentimental firearms. One or more that you would not sell and keep as long as possible, for whatever reason.
Thanks. I was in the same boat as Steve. Currently, all my guns are PK.

I have a few I have had for many years and a couple from dad that I have held on to for that reason . however
I use to trade and buy and sell at local GS as a way to get new or different guns and enjoyed doing it . but its been years since I did any of it , I would say now what i own will be me until I kick off then it will be up to my sons to split up keep and sell
that is of course unless something comes down the road unforeseen then I am forced to sell

Ruger 77V tang safety Heavy barrel in 280 Rem. purchased new back about 1982, best load is with Hornady 154 gr SpirePoint on top of IMR 4350, 2900 fts at the muzzle, she'll put them into 2 1/2" group at 300 yards off the bench,
Winchester 62a purchased at a farm auction about 25 years ago , think I had the winning bid at $425

This Remington belonged to my Grandfather and is the first gun I learned to shoot with

Every farm boy needs a shotgun 😊, my Dad bought me a plain-jane, non checkerd walnut stocked Stevens Model 94 single shot .410 for my 6th birthday in 1957. Shot my first everything with it, yep, even my 1st. deer...........Priceless and I mean absolutely priceless.......but it will be passed down.

A few PK’s;
Dad left me his Stevens Little Scout that grandpa got him when dad was 8, his Stevens Favorite that he bought when he was 12 and Dads Beretta Model 70 pistol (32 cal)
Of ones I’ve acquired, there are a few I’m fond of but they aren’t irreplaceable. I’ve promised a couple to my son, but he’s not a gun-nut or hunter and we haven’t even punched paper in probably 10 years.
To keep as long as possible, Kimber Stainless Gold Match, maybe 3 AR’s I’ve built on Sharps “Jack” receivers and JP parts; in 300BO SBR, 24” 223 and 6.5 Creedmoor … and probably my HK registered sear with MP5SD and/or 53 clones or my KAC SR15 with 223 @ 300BO uppers … and I’m really fond of my 9mm CZ TS & SiG 226 Elite and probably a couple carry guns.
I always seem to end up with a considerable list when I try to come up with a list of “keepers”.

Winchester 1897 made in 1957 , my grand ads Pheasant shotgun. Still ion next to new condition.
Colt 1911 for WW1, Great Great Uncles , USMC 1911. Past down thru the family.
CZ-75 9mm made in 1979 Purchased in Germany at Rod and Gun club $ 200.00 back then Never fails, a bit worn. Getting a bit heavy but always close by.

Although the S&W Straight Line is close.

@Don McManus : those Colts are fantastic! One for each hand!
The Straight Line is a pretty unique single shot. Only 1,870 or so were made and sold between 1925 and 1933(?). I am not 100% sure of course, but it shows no evidence of having been fired.
Have put 20 or so rounds through each of the Colts.
