Ouch not good. Bad decision to call one of those numbers to talk to someone. If you're lucky you won't get a gigantic phone bill for a call made to old Calcutta or bum friggin' Egypt.

I have gotten that Amazon call three times in the last 6 months. I didn't call back.

Guess they are "pinging" your number since you called one of them a bad name. Probably won't stop for a while. ymmv

I'd call the phone provider and tell them someone is calling you at .... and give them the exact times they call. Tell them it's harassment and you want them to block it. They can see logs of the incoming exchange.

Alternatively, unplug your phone for a few days. Anyone who HAS to talk to you will know another way to do it.

once you respond they know the number is good from what i have been told or answering a e-mail; will do the same

from what I read some time ago ( years ) the scams and fishing calls = a ton of money to the scammers just a ball park guess I do not remember the real numbers they make 1000 calls with luck a few pan out send them the info or money and they after a week or two of taking the cash shut down and get new numbers start over

Even Cancer provides some positive in my life, since I no longer have a business I don't have to answer any number I don't know anymore! Yeah

Trying to be "clever" with a spam/scam caller is liking slapping a hornet's nest: you will immediately realize what a mistake that was.

Those saying to block that particular number is an exercise in futility. Most spam callers now "spoof" numbers that are local to you, they may even be someones real number if you call it back but all it does is fool your caller ID so when you see it you think it is a local number.

Same with "do not call" lists, all that does is let the callers know it is an active number, don't bother.

I don't know if something has recently happened in curtailing the amount of these spam calls but in the last week or so the bogus ones I usually get are way down to just a few.

Probably writing this post will put a jinx on me!! 🤐

...Call the carrier and be put on their "no call" list...worked for me...I seldom get a bogus call now...

Got rid of the landline last month, my cell always pops up with "Spam Risk" so I haven't had a single telemarketer call in a month, it's nice...

This is the landline I use for work. Maybe it was "ruin the weekend" thing, it seems to have stopped.
