.38 reloading problem

    Just some quick thoughts: worn sizing die, bullet change/ larger diameter, minute obstruction in the cylinder. A bullet change is most likely. Interesting problem. Let us know the cause.

    Was loading cast lead, changed brands, no difference.

    Size a shell (don't load a bullet) and try it in the chamber. If the shell after sizing fits then check the seating depth and crimping of the bullet (too deep, not deep enough/ too much crimp) Might be a slight bulge where the bullet is crimped.

    Sized a shell , fits great. Expander die is where Im creating a problem. Worked with it for two hours and got frosted. Ordered a new set of Lee Carbide dies for $32. Hope problem solved.
