I thought Dawnie was going to sell her 2020 Traverse for cash and then buy a 2022 Traverse later in the year, so I got her an ex-police Tahoe to drive in the interim. Well, she double-crossed me.
She decided to downsize, but wasn't happy with the Equinox. I liked the Blazer, and it was available with a normally aspirated engine, but she didn't like it.
She ended up trading the Traverse for a 2022 Trailblazer, pretty much loaded out. Nice ride, but on the smallish side. She's happy, and that's what matters, I guess.
I found myself a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, with 27K miles on it. It's clean and runs good, so I figure to keep it for a long time.
Now, I have for sale a 2011 Chevy Tahoe and a 1997 Ford F-150. Honest to goodness, if that F-150 had a back seat and two more doors, I'd be keeping it for the foreseeable future.

I just bought a red 2000 Merc Grand Marquis with gray leather. The old man who bought it new took real good care of it. She has clean oil that was changed a couple of thousand miles ago but she gets five quarts of Mobile One in the morning. This is the third one of these I have owned in the last twenty years and I like them.

You know I bought new wipers for that Merc this afternoon and they cost $28.00. EACH!! I like to have good wipers but they are getting expensive.

Her being happy with her vehicle is the important thing and kudos to you for being supportive with her choice. It'll be an adjustment for sure going from a Traverse to a compact SUV but I bet she will love the mileage and the ease of parking. I had looked at the specs of the Trailblazer before I commented on your original post but ruled it out because of it having a turbo, which you didn't want. With todays turbos if the car is maintained properly it will still be going strong long after you are tired of the vehicle and want to trade it in. Bob

Go to Walmart. You can get um for under $5.00 each. No such thing as good wipers. They all dry rot long before they should.
I don't know the brand, but the wipers on my 1997 F-150 are still good, and they were on the truck when I bought it over 5 years ago. Maybe keeping it in the garage helps out a bit.

Those trail blazers looks good. I always think it's a Rav4 when I pass one on the road with that white top of theirs.

was-dano, it's true that there is no such thing as a good $5 wiper. But the premium ones are great and last a long time. The sun is brutal here in Utah and my Bosch set is still perfect after two years.
nunn, Have you ever noticed that the majority of vehicles with a burned out LED headlight are Chevy's? And when they go, it's a dealer item to replace - for $350 a light. Crappy but exorbitant lights.

I agree about the value of buying good wiper blade Rocky. Cheap ones last about a year in Michigan but I can buy a good pair and they will last 3 or more years.
Concerning the LED headlights around here it seems to be more likely a Toyota with burnt out LEDs or even cracked lenses. Probably due to something like the difference in weather versus where you are. I don't understand the short life of some of the headlights. With no filament to break from vibration weren't they supposed to last many times longer than the old bulb? Bob

I think it's the circuitry that's burning out, not the actual LED. But I'm no expert. All I know is that I replaced my Toyota OEM (2008) bulbs with after-market LEDs and I have never turned them off in at least three years. The vehicle originally had a "slightly dimmed" mode for the original bulbs as Daytime Running Lights, but the LEDs are so efficient that even cutting the voltage to them doesn't dim them.
At least I could reach in and replace the bulbs myself.
Edit to add: I see other brands with burned out lights, but I bet it's 4 to 1 Chevy's

Sharp! Kinda looks like a cross between the Equinox and a Mini-Cooper. The only problem I see is that you may have to fold up in strange ways to ride in it. Perhaps that was her plan all along! 😀 Bob

David how much did you pay for the Exploder ????I passed up a 2008 with 57K on it but it had a V8. They were asking 10,900 for it, I thought that was a wee bit high.

It was a tad high too, at $11,400, but it has 28,000 miles on it It also has a 4.6L V-8 and it runs like a scalded cat.
