    I went thru every Marlin book that I have none mention that Marlin ever stamped any of them there. They did write the serial number in pencil there if the stock and receiver were to be separated after finishing

    at least they did not use a dull nail or a marking pen on the showing section wood or barrel as we have seen in the past . who ever it was had a bit of common sense . I have had several with social security numbers engraved a couple , along the way thank goodness it was so light they polished off .

    my younger brother ( RIP ) did some bubby work on more than a few common rifles and shotguns when he was younger granted they were just cheap guns and honestly he did not do too bad with what he had to work with ,, but still 😮
