When bad things happen to bad people.
I just saw that Kathy Griffin has lung cancer. She never smoked.
I cannot say I feel sorry for her because she is a vile person but I will say I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone(well maybe a few people).
For those who don't remember this is her:
She is supposed to be some kind of comedian.

Too bad cancer is an awful illness that as you say I would wish on no one, that said prayers asked that she be enlightened and humbled through this.

I know it sounds hard but as for as I'm concerned she's on her own, there too many good people suffering to worry about her. I've got to wonder though if she ever thinks this maybe a case of karma setting in. Unhappiness can be a deadly disease and one can tell she's not happy.

After watching my wife being tortured for over 15 months so far with stage 4 lung/spine cancer I can honestly say that no living creature on earth deserves to be punished with this terrible god forsaken disease no matter how bad they have been during their life time.
There are people in this world that are going to hell when they die but none of them deserve to go through this hell while they live.

Honestly could not care less than I do about what happens to her. Cancer? Who cares? Gold medal at the Olympics? Whop-dee-doo. She's of exactly zero importance to me.
