chicken wings
ok which of you are buying up all the chicken wings. stores here have been totally out or have a very limited supply of wings for the last several months. now to my way of thinking a chicken has two of most of its eatable parts, two legs, two thighs, two pieces of breast, and TWO wings. so who is hoarding all the wings. Mississippi is the fifth ranking chicken producing state sure seems to me i should be able to buy a package of wings.

Not me. Iβve never bought a chicken wing in my life. Have eaten very few.

Try buffalo wings, I have heard they are better. Don

The Russians have developed an appetite for chicken wings. They pay top dollar & buy them by the ton, so that has resulted in fewer wings for the US market, just when they are in demand for the football season.
Many restaurants are reporting difficulty getting certain items from their distributors. The 3 big US beef processors shut down some lines due to covid outbreaks among their employees, & lamb is difficult to get. So, many restaurants are using more chicken.

I remember wings for a nickel. A pound, seen them at three cents on sale.

Not very far north of me, they built 3 new chicken barns. Each barn will house 1 million chickens. They should be on the market soon. Be patient. π

I will say this yet again: None of this happened under Trump.

They are getting expensive too. I went out yesterday and got wings, they were $1.50 each wing. I got 10 and a beer, $22 dollar meal. I crossed that place off my list.

One of our local places (Wing Stop) just advertised that they now offer chicken thighs - because they can't get wings.
Now, something about that is odd, because every chicken has two of each, so...
On the other...wing...have you noticed how many chicken places have sprung up, and how many "burger" chains now proudly offer chicken sammiches and chicken nuggets? There must be incredible demand for chicken meat.

my son lives in Huntsville, al, he told me the chicken places there are also doing thighs. evidently they cant get wing there either.

No meat on them anyway, just call them sauce handles.

I work in the meat dept. of a LARGE chain grocer.........we have had trouble getting wings for the last year or so and when we have them, customers are limited to (2) packages each.
I cannot explain the shortage.............but it coincides with the "pandemic". I suspect a shortage of workers in farms and processing plants.

Not being a pessimist here but it will get worse as long as the idiots in not charge are in office. Tip of the iceberg and the Titanic is full steam ahead.

Well Dano, I saw chicken feet at the grocery store last month. I guess some folks will eat anything. I would think chicken feet are only good for picking your teeth.

Chicken wings are for folks with miniature appetites.

...Don't look at me, I'm sure not buying 'em...of all the chicken, the wings have less meat and the hardest to eat, I'll pass and you can have mine...

Back in the '90's before chicken wings were cool, i was at a restaurant in Chicago while attending a seminar.
I had never heard of wing dings before, so I figured, I'll try this. They brought me a bowl the size of a basketball, sitting on a platter of fries. The bowl was lined with wings all the way around, probably 30 I'm guessing, and enough fries to make a meal.
They made their own special hot sauce to compliment the wings. Hands down, one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The entire meal, with drinks, cost me about 18 bucks.
It's funny how a portion of chicken that used to be thrown away, is now the coveted money maker.

Not a big fan of wings, but if they are now using thighs, I'm in! More meat and easier to eat.

The only time a chicken wing is bad is during your golf swing.

Those Texicans use those chicken feet to cover their tracks and avoid being tracked down by the posse hot on their trail! π

I have eaten quite a few chicken wings thru the yrs. I am betting millions of folks around the world would love to have them on their plate as something to eat.

A platter of buffalo wings, some raw veggies and a little ranch or blue cheese dressing to dunk them in, an ice cold pitcher of beer and a few good friends to share it with. That my friends is a great meal. Bob

I am well known as a guy whose motto is "If it's slower than I am, it's lunch." I actively seek out things I've never eaten, and I grew up chowing down on things like tongue, brains, pigs' feet, and gizzards. So you can imagine (or maybe not) the things I have tried.
I'm here to tell you,my friends, it is ALL good.
