Another shooter stole my lunchbox
Well this got under my skin.
A range I have been to a hundred times. Went for a local match and there is sort of a pavilion. Coffee in the AM, outhouses, covered picnic benches for lunch the hub of traffic during the day.
And its right in the middle of all the pistol bays. It is not unusual for shooters to stage gear/ammo in this area either and I have done so many times.
Long story short, someone stole my lunchbox.
I happened to have won this at a match and it was very distinct.
It was a Yeti zipper style lunchbox with a “Glock Professional” patch embroidered onto it. It was a prize from a USPSA prize table in South Florida. I hadn't shot a great match (didn’t win a gun) but it was cool and unique so I chose it.
It only had my lunch but dang if I am not absolutely ticked off it was stolen from me.
What is wrong with people?

That sucks. I remember being at a BMW motorcycle rally and while I was enjoying the events, someone opened my saddlebags (which were not locked) and helped themselves to a few things.
You like to imagine that the people who share your interests also share your values. Sadly, it's not always the case.

Yes, it seems that you cannot expect much of anything from anyone anymore. If you what to keep what is yours, you need to be pro-active.
If I'm on a m/c ride, and I stop for lunch or such, my helmet always goes with me. It's too expensive to chance by leaving it with my bike. There are some times though, when I don't want to carry it around, so it gets locked to a luggage rack via a padlock and cable.
It may be a sad way to look at things, but I've found that if you don't expect much from anyone, rarely are you disappointed.
Agree. My helmet goes with me, otherwise I have a spot where I can use a cable and lock to secure it. Same with the saddlebags...they are (now) always locked.

with any luck it will show up at the range again . who ever stole it may just forget and bring back in ?
sad fact too many people are tempted to seal who other wise would not be if given the chance like locking any thing when locked if some one wants it or in , they will do it regardless they will find a way . if unlocked some will steal just because they had the opportunity to do so

I gave you a "like" but it should be an agree, because there is nothing to like about theft. The old saying that a lock only keeps an honest person honest, rings true in most cases.

I think that "Yeti" translates to "Steal me" unfortunately. Chances are, it's already sitting in a pawn shop somewhere. I'm very sorry for the anguish this has caused you, good sir.

Most ranges have video of the shooting benches just in case something goes south. Do they have video there?

I'm pretty sure I work with that loser.
We have to scan in and out of our facility for security reasons.
Many of my coworkers keep their badge in their wallet, and pull it out each time they reach a security point. I refuse to do this for obvious reasons.
A coworker scanned his badge/wallet and didn't secure it in his pocket. It fell to the ground and someone else made off with over $600 in cash.
Yeah, he made a terrible mistake, but there is a predator waiting at every corner.

Lost a real nice ski parka that way. Took it off in the lodge during lunch fluid repenishment and someone wandered by and lifted it off the peg and out the door. Dang but I must have looked awful good in that coat for 'em to be so brazen about it.
Hopefully your lunchbox will magically re-appear at the next shoot.
