Just got a call from my Dermatologist
The cutaneous horn they removed from my temple is cancerous. At least it is squamous cell cancer rather than a more aggressive cancer. I can't get in for more treatment until Nov 4th.
It's always something, and it never seems like there is any good news the older you get.

I hear ya Joe! I had a squamous cancer cored out of my forearm just before the big pandemic hit. My follow up appointments have all been cancelled since. I have learned to just relax and not worry about all these things that are out of our control these days.

The cancer on my nose was squamous. Took 6 different cuttings to get it all out .Left nostril is missing quite a large chunk .

I hope that it all turns out OK for you. I have had a couple of "suspicious" things removed in the past year, both proving to be benign.

Lucky it was a "horn", or you might have put it off longer. Prayers sent.

She called it a horn, but it hadn't progressed to that point yet. It looked more like a small eraser. The worst part of the whole thing is that they are so busy, that is the soonest they can get me in.

Prayers for you, Bubba! Hopefully when they de-horn you nobody in the office has a branding iron handy...

Weird things that suddenly appear on your skin should NOT be ignored. I had a squishy little lump show up on the back of my neck and went to our family Doc. He couldn't identify it, but carved it off and sent it in for lab analysis. Turned out to have been a "Six Month Melanoma" meaning if I had ignored it, I'd have been dead in six months. Got an immediate opening with a specialist, who carved a bit more but said that the first Doc had gotten it all.
Have had a much less dangerous carcinoma show up since then, but nothing now for two years. I get a regular "Full Monty" exam by a lovely young woman (an interesting experience, I assure you!) and am probably free of danger.

When she cut off the eraser, she hit me with her branding iron, or what she called it, her cauterizing iron. Burnt flesh is something I never liked to smell.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes guys.
