New garage doors
Had the local Clopay dealer out today to quote new garage doors for my daughter and SIL house. I ask him how far out he was scheduling installs. He told me 15-20 weeks. Said it was due to high demand and low production

Despite their car having a backup warning alarm, my neighbor's wife managed to back their Toyota into their garage door, damaging it to the point that he wanted to replace it- the door, not the wife!. There is so much new construction going on here in central Florida that he was told 90 days at the absolute minimum for a new door. He's pounded the door back into shape while he waits.

My Clopay door is 16’ by 8’. It’s 25 years old and i have had no trouble with it. I can still lift it with two fingers. ( the electric opener is on the fritz.)

Mine has been on order since 20 July . . . and is supposed to be here 10 October. Ten feet high and twelve feet wide for my new "Toy Box".

Our 8' X 18' Clopay sectional door is now 16 years old and going strong. However, our 16 year old Liftmaster Garage Door Opener started showing its age, so yesterday it was replaced with a Liftmaster WLED wi-fi opener with battery backup. It has updated security, but most of the myQ devices I used with our old opener work with the new one. The new opener with belt drive and DC motor is super quiet!

Those are the openers I ask the rep. to quote me on. Told him I would like R13 polyurethane insulated doors, upgraded torsion spring, ball bearing nylon rollers and heavy duty hinges

When I had the Clopay garage door installed, a few weeks later, I purchased an opener for it @ Home Depot. Got it on sale for $189.00.
It was the 1st garage door opener I ever had. It was as quiet as could be. All you could hear was the door rollers moving along the tracks.
Our present home has a three car garage. Both doors have Genie "PRO" openers. Both are loud & noisy. No idea why they are called PRO.
They seem to function fine, if you can deal with the noise. Been thinking about replacing both, and if I do, I'll go with the Chamberlain opener.
Chamberlain is the best, and belt drive is much much quieter than chain drive.

I bought a recliner at the Lady, um Lazy Boy store in Reno last month. Pay now; five to six months. I guess they have a hard time finding the guy that hunts down the donor animal for the leather.😊

I have a Chamberlain opener on my side of the garage. The only issue I had is they packaged the wrong drive belt with it and I had to wait several days before I could install it. It works fine and is very much quieter than the original Lynx opener they installed when they built our house.

Doors over 7' high need an opener with an extra lift extension. Lesson learned.

When I had my shop built I had 2- 8x10 drum doors installed.I didnt know anything about garage doors so they must have installed the cheapest thing made and they are drafty and uninsulated.I need to do some research and upgrade.
