Seriously in Asia they are dried and ground into powders and used for pain medicine.
I have seen both centipedes and millipedes in Africa and Asia near a foot long, some of the millipedes were 1" in diameter.

When I was around 11 years old, some friends and I were 'exploring' a huge runoff culvert in Oklahoma City. We came across a centipede that was about 18 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.
Got the heck out of there quick. Didn't want to piss off it's parents.......

If you went to the theater to watch "The Tingler" back in the day, they had a rubber one of those things dangling all around scaring the crap out of all the poor children! 😂

getting off topic just wanted to add
I was just a young fellow I watched on the old late night scary shows that use to be popular I still enjoy watching the old scary movies even with the cheesy special effects but as a kid they were scary Vincent Price I think narrated maybe in the move one of the great old actors
going to the theater was un heard of when I was a kid . but we would all pile into the car and go to the drive in all us kids 4 of us ) stayed 11 years old for many years to get 1/2 fair tickets also mom would bring a jug of water or Kool aid and a bag of popcorn with us maybe bologna sandwiches if lucky LOL
as for the centipede I sure would not want to wake up having it crawling on me

I have seen that picture before and thought it may be fake.I never saw one that big over there but did see some strange bugs and critters.I probably saw the most scary bugs and snakes clearing jungle in the Phillipines.
